Otoplasty

It is the correction of large ears, usually known as “prominent ears” or “Dumbo ears”.

REASONS:

Congenital or acquired defects of the auricular pavilion.

SURGERY:

Local anesthesia, with or without sedation. The surgical wound is completely hidden (behind the ear). In children, anesthesia should always be general.

This is an outpatient surgery.

HOW LONG MUST THE PATIENT STAY IN CALI?

One or two weeks

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Use of protective bandage for 2 weeks. Personalized instructions given by your surgeon. Hygiene measures. Avoid sun exposure and cigarette smoking for 4 months.

Other pathologies treated surgically are:

Agenesis and microtias (total or partial absence of the atrial pavilion – congenital or acquired), bifid lobes (as in the case of chronic trauma caused by the use of earrings) and post-traumatic sequelae, among others.
