Surgery to improve baldness

Follicular Unit Micrografts.

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?

It is a living tissue transplant, from a donor site (occipital lobe) to a receiving site (baldness area), performed in a certified operating room and under local anesthesia and sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the conditions of each patient. This procedure is usually outpatient and does not require hospitalization. Each micrograft contains 1 to 3 Follicular units. Our professional and human team consists of 1 anesthesiologist, 2 surgeons and an expert technical nurse.

WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?

Each follicle is in one of 4 different phases of growth and development. While some follicles grow, others atrophy. Initially the hair grows in a general way, but then almost everything will fall out. However, between the third and fourth month after surgery, the grafted hair will begin to come out and grow normally.

IMPORTANT ASPECTS TO TAEKE INTO ACCOUNT:

  • Depending on the grafted area, the recovery time and stay in Cali will be between 2 and 3 weeks.
  • An adjuvant nutritional treatment will be prescribed by Dr. Escobar.
  • General advice will be given once you decide to have surgery with Dr. Escobar.
  • The results are greater when the hair loss has just started. On many occasions, several surgical procedures are required.
